Hello

I'm Dale Dahlberg, and I am the founder of Sounds Great Piano Service. I am a trained piano technician, musician, certified Dampp-Chaser Piano Life Saver installer, and active member of the Piano Technicians Guild. My goal is to ensure your piano supports your musical expression, whether you are a casual player or a concert performer.

My Story

Being a piano technician is often described as being partly art and partly science. My background as a lifelong musician and previous career as an engineer, combined with my training and experience as a piano technician, give me the ability to fix issues that others could not, so your piano performs beautifully every time you sit down to play.

As a musician myself, I understand the difference a well-maintained piano makes for beginners and skilled performers alike. I know the frustration of dealing with an instrument that does not respond the way you expect, and the satisfaction of playing a piano that just feels right.

Years of musical training have sharpened my ear for tone, resonance, and touch, which lets me go beyond the basics in piano service, fine-tuning each piano to bring out its unique voice. While technology helps, I do not depend solely on tools while tuning pianos. I rely instead on listening to what your piano needs.

My engineering background taught me how to troubleshoot complex systems and find precise solutions. I have always been curious about how things work. I was that kid who took everything apart just to see inside. Today, that same mindset helps me diagnose and resolve piano issues efficiently and thoroughly.

At the end of the day, I care about making sure your piano plays beautifully and reliably—so you can focus on making music.

I am based in Eden Prairie, MN, and I love working with piano owners throughout the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas. Some of the communities I serve include Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska, Delano, Deephaven, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Edina, Excelsior, Hopkins, Long Lake, Maple Grove, Maple Plain, Mayer, Medina, Minnetonka, Minnetrista, Minneapolis, Mound, Norwood Young America, Plymouth, Shorewood, St. Paul, Victoria, Waconia, Wayzata, and West Bloomington.
