Most of my customers here in the Twin Cities prefer to have their pianos tuned twice a year to ensure they sound beautiful and maintain consistent touch despite Minnesota's dramatic seasonal temperature and humidity changes. At a minimum, I recommend having your piano serviced once per year to keep it from falling into disrepair.
Why does my piano go out of tune?
Pianos naturally go out of tune over time mainly due to seasonal changes in humidity and temperature. As the seasons change in Minnesota, your piano's wooden soundboard expands and contracts, which affects the tension of the strings. Keeping your piano in a climate-controlled environment can help maintain its tuning stability.
How should I clean my piano?
For general cleaning, dust your piano's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth to remove fingerprints, but avoid household cleaners, as they can damage the finish.
Can you move my piano?
While I don’t provide piano moving services, I will be happy to recommend professional piano movers who will ensure your instrument is transported safely.
